Abstract

The article discusses the ways of verbal representation of linguistic-cultural concept FASHION on the
material of the English-language newspaper discourse. The attention focuses on the structural analysis of the
concept FASHION – to reveal the nuclear and periphery, to distinguish the macroareas, and definitive analysis of
the nominations, a number of components synonymous behalf concept FASHION. The article analyzes the
participation of synonyms of the lexeme fashion, including lexeme style, and their functioning in modern English.
Semes reflect the lexical means of verbalization of the concept in the English-speaking monolingual dictionaries
and are actualized in the British newspaper discourse. Thus defined the most frequently used meanings of
concept‘s FASHION verbalizators.
