Abstract

The author examined the basic models of denumerical word-formation on the material of
lexicographic sources and modern English literary discourse with the use of methods of descriptive
and definitive analyses. A specific character of denumericals and their linguistic cognitive
characteristics is determined, the phenomena of adherent numerical morphemes in the denumerical
surface structure of English language are highlighted.
