Abstract

The paper focuses on the problem of synonymic relations within the special subsystem of terms –
mechanical engineering. The analysis of both dictionary entries and different specialized texts helped
to point out the main synonymic units. The thorough investigation helped to define the main
characteristics of the synonymic elements.
