Abstract

The article is devoted to the topical issues of development and the role of intelligentsia in the chronicle novel
«The Fading-away Shadows» by Valerii Shevchuk in dimensions and perspectives of the nation and the state
formation. Attention is focused on the problem of maintaining by intelligentsia spiritual, moral, cultural traditions
and building on this basis their mode of national identity.
