Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of modern approaches to the notion of self-concept from the perspective of
linguistics and psychology. On the example of inner speech it is studied how the self-concept functions in directive
discourse. It is concluded that the verbal realization of self-concept in directive discourse needs further
investigation
