Abstract

The author reveals the gender-specific translation of a literary text. When translating a literary text a
translator should take into account gender and cultural characteristics of the target language, pay attention to the
stereotypical judgments about a man and a woman, be not only a translator, but a co-author of a literary text.
Since gender-specific translation of a literary text puts before the translator quite complex tasks, he has no right
ignore them.
