Abstract

The article reviews the concept of the intercultural communication. Based on the analysis of some O.Henry’s
short stories interpretation into Ukrainian, the authors define types of cultural words and consider the ways of
their rendering. It is maintained in the article that realia, as a group of vocabulary which offers difficulty in
interpretation, really need special approach on the part of an interpreter
