Abstract

The article deals with the typological analysis of the images of a miser in the G. F. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko’s
novel «Stolbikov’s life and adventures. Manuscript of the XVIIIth cent.» and in the N. V. Gogol’s poem «Dead
Souls». We investigate differences and similarities in the characteristic portraits of the heroes, the artistic means
in the ways of expressing author's attitude to the depicted characters.
