Abstract

The article finds out genre, narrative and composite features based on the autobiographical story by a
contemporary Ukrainian writer; role of chronotope, intertextuality, symbolic images, the stream of consciousness,
surreal aspects, etc. are also studied in the art reproduction of the psychology of Ukrainian intellectual, who is
forced to go to Czech Republic to work there because of lack of money.
The story written in the form of a diary provides emotionality, maximum plausibility for described material.
The sources of the hero's stoicism, who is supported in the foreign land by memories of the past, family,
Homeland, belief in his own potential power, appealing to Ukrainian traditions, are found out.
