Matviychuk U. D. The Rhythmic Expression of Musicianship in M. Johansen’s Poetry

Abstract

The paper presents the concept of «musicianship» as artistic and aesthetic phenomenon that manifests itself in
rhythmic, fonic, lexical and structural levels of a literary work. The basic literary approaches to the understanding
and interpretation of the concept of "musicianship" in the works of modern Ukrainian researchers are
represented. The substantive provisions of M. Johansen’s work «Elementary versification laws» related to the
metric structure of the poem are reviewed, in particular, the concept "the tempo of the poem", "the metric canon"
and "the metric prosaisms". Rhythmic of M. Johansen’s poetry through the prism of music is analyzed. The
percentage of used meters in M. Johansen’s poetry and possible musical transformation of literary works are
presented. Literary prospects of translation from one art to another (transformation of Metre in certain tunes) are
showed that let discover new aesthetic dimensions of literary works
