Abstract

The article studies the stylistic mechanisms of semantization and aesthetization of the Ukrainian translation
of the Bible by I. Ohiienko and I. Khomenko. The individually-author features of the Holy Writ translation of these
translators are determined. The synonymous and antonymous pairs of lexemes (nouns and verbs) are analyzed
and tropic system (assonance, epithet, metaphor, simile, oxymoron, etc.) of the Ukrainian biblical texts of the XXth
century are characterized. It is found that translations of the Holy Writ by I. Ohiienko and I. Khomenko are
marked with the exemplary Ukrainian literary language, selecting proper Ukrainian lexical means and tropes that
optimizes primarily emotional and expressive impact on the consciousness of the reader or listener. It is proved
that the translations of the Bible by I. Ohiienko and I. Khomenko are stylistically and linguistically self-sufficient
and are marked with saturation of language means, and it plays a significant role in the creation of the world
linguistic picture of the Ukrainian people and plays linguistic traditions of certain time.
